Every mug is unique: the complex manufacturing process

Jede Mug ist ein Unikat: Der aufwendige Herstellungsprozess

In today's world of mass production and rapid manufacturing, it is a blessing to enjoy craftsmanship that requires time, patience and dedication. At Dripdrop Ceramics in Mannheim, every cup is made with such care and attention to detail that it is not just a simple drinking vessel, but a work of art that brightens up everyday life.

It begins by pouring liquid clay into molds to create the basic structure of the cup. Why liquid clay? So that we can do justice to everyone, we looked for a way to optimize our work processes. After a lot of time and endless attempts, we developed a perfect shape.

The mug is given the perfect polish on the turntable to create its characteristic shape and smoothness. Once the shaping is complete, each cup goes through a complex drying process.

But that's not all. The true character of a mug is only revealed when it receives its final glaze. This is where craftsmanship is expressed in its purest form, as each cup is glazed by hand.

After glazing, the mug can be fired. It is placed in the oven not once but twice to ensure the stability and durability of the final product. This step is crucial to ensure that each cup can easily endure everyday use.

It is this combination of handcrafted precision and intricate glazes that makes each mug a unique work of art. Each cup tells its own story and bears the traces of craftsmanship. There are no mechanical workflows - each mug is unique, made with love and care.

At Dripdrop Ceramics, we pride ourselves on combining art and functionality in each of our products. Every mug that leaves our workshop is a testament to our passion for craftsmanship and our attention to detail.
